As the inter-regional bandwidth for HEP is becoming rather big, the intra-regional connectivity for HEP is becoming more and more important, especially in Asia. KEK has been trying to be a hub in Asian region in the worldwide HEP collaboration. It currently has three HEP-dedicated international lines within Asia; one is to Russia, another is to China, and the other is to Taiwan. However these bandwidth are quite small. The connectivity to other Asian countries that also have HEP researchers is much worse.
On seeing the current situation in general A&R networks and in commercial networks in Asia, what choice do we have for improving the connectivity for HEP in Asia? Satellite and data broadcasting might be interesting as another choice in Asia. In this paper, we will present what we've done and what we are going to do for the networking in Asia. Possible future directions will also be discussed.
