BaBar is operating a Unix multinode compute farm for its
quasi-online reconstruction of the events. For steering this heavily
distributed system, we have implemented a set of light client/server
tools based on Corba as a communication protocol within C++
applications. The ACE-TAO communication tool library is used to ease
the implementation, and provides us with a multithreaded environment
for the client side.
Details about the requirements as well as the effective design
will be provided, together with performance comparisons against the
early implementation, based on ssh/rsh.
