An ATLAS event may contain hits from the triggering event - probably of very high multiplicity - and from other events which occur almost simultaneously. For such cases, the "V-plot" significantly helps to recognise tracks or track clusters. The tracks within these clusters may be distinguished by simple magnifications. A specialised 3-dimensional cleaning procedure further improves track recognition, especially when applied in conjunction with the V-plot.
We will demonstrate the use of the V-plot and the use of fast algorithms a) to find primary vertices and b) to eliminate hits not belonging to the interesting event.
