Transport and management of high volumes of data through bounded LAN and WAN infrastructures at SLAC

Steffen Luitz, David Millsom, Davide Salomoni, Jay Young Kim, Anthony Zele
 SLAC

Speaker: David Millsom

This talk will address how the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), with its diverse and unique requirements for networking at very high speeds, is managing the challenges to provide physicists with state-of-the-art networks, in the context of a secure environment. We'll present some of the tools we have developed to monitor and increase data throughput over LANs and WANs, and results from tests done with the NTON (National Transparent Optical Network Consortium) testbed NGI network.
