Traffic analysis and performance diagnosis in the switched data acquisition and control networks of the BaBar experiment

  The BaBar data acquisition and online system is a complex computing environment built around a switched 100MBit and Gigabit Ethernet network. In order to understand and tune our systems we complemented the coarse-grained host-based performance metrics by network traffic recording and analysis. In this presentation an overview of the techniques, available tools and results will be given.
