Northeastern University Speaker: Lucas Taylor The CMS IGUANA project is responsible for providing generic OO software toolkits for applications such as: interactive data analysis and presentation; interactive detector and event visualisation; on-line and off-line monitoring systems; and graphical user interfaces. The baseline assessment and choice of technologies and the IGUANA multi-document application architecture is described and illustrated with a number of realistic prototypes. These include: a 3D detector and event visualisation system for simulated CMS events; online monitoring and control systems for test beams; and the analysis of persistent OO (HTL) histograms and tags using the Objectivity database. While IGUANA is focused on the needs of the CMS experiment it is, by design, independent of specific details and is therefore more widely applicable.
